This morning’s breakfast in the privately run hostel cafe was a different experience to the YHA buffets we have been used to. No “Three breakfasts, anyone?” today.
Our 13ish-mile walk included another cave exploration detour in Lathkill Dale in the morning before a lunch break in Monyash where Sarah joined us for the rest of the trip.
We then headed north to Monsal Head to admire the viaduct and walk part of the Monsal Trail, an old railway line, through tunnels and past Cressbrook Mill, before reaching Millers Dale for dinner.
The subsequent trek through the woods in the dark to Ravenstor YH was a fun end to the day.
