Eye & Hoxne Walk: Sunday 18th August

Text contributed by Lisa; pics by Simon.

Simon and Sarah’s 11.5-mile circular walk commenced with a small, but enthusiastic, group of six in Eye and took us through rural countryside with broad vistas to enjoy in the sunshine.

We passed through the villages of Hoxne and Cross Street and the Brome Hall Estate, admiring mansions with manicured lawns and thatched cottages with typically English country gardens.

We walked through parsley fields and spied a hare and a deer. The more sophisticated of us learnt about the site where St Edmund was slain.

The more juvenile of us made rude words out of road signs. [Ed.: The example below is the only photo I can publish on the website but there were others!]

A happy, fun day in great company. Thank you to all.
