Deben Doddle: Saturday 20th July

Pics contributed by Clare.

On a very warm day, nine IOGers congregated at Woodbridge bus station for Bob’s 18-mile linear walk from Woodbridge to Felixstowe.

Some of the walk followed the Deben with lovely views across the river.

We skirted around Martlesham Creek and then headed south along footpaths and quiet country lanes to Waldringfield, where we took refuge from the sun in a patch of shade on the beach for lunch.

As well as the views, there was plenty of chat to keep us entertained as we headed through Hemley and around the marshes across the river from Ramsholt.

We stopped for ice creams at Felixstowe Ferry before the last push along the seafront to Felixstowe.

More ice creams and cold drinks as we looked out over the sea (with boots off!) at the end finished the day off nicely.

A perfect day in great company. Thanks Bob.
