Cycle and Cake: Saturday 19th October

This year has marked a revival of the Cycle and Cake rides that proved very popular in the past. Cyclists are invited to join me on easy-paced and social rides with one or more stops on route to enjoy refreshments and some cake. One or two more rides are planned this year, weather permitting.

Cycle and Cake number 3 proved to be a rain-free event after a heavy and prolonged downpour in the morning. We started at St Margaret’s Church, Ipswich, on a lovely sunny afternoon and mainly followed National Route 1 to Hadleigh.

Around 4 miles before reaching the High Street, Rachael had a puncture. She looked like she enjoyed herself getting the inner tube out of a very sturdy tyre! She and our technical support volunteer Kearton worked hand in hand, various tools were tested and 25 minutes later it was fixed.

We felt that cake and coffee at The Flying Guardsman were very much what we needed afterwards.
