Brettenham Backdrop: Sunday 13th October

Autumnal landscapes abounded in this pleasant 10-mile walk, courtesy of Glen, in and around the village of Brettenham, which lies to the south west of Stowmarket.

The group passed the grounds of Old Buckenham Hall School and later Down Hall with its amazing and unusual garden features. It’s not often giraffes and elephants appear on an IOG walk.

A weighbridge provided extra entertainment, with Simon suggesting this should be a new method of measuring attendance at IOG events – “1.12 tonnes of IOG members enjoyed a great walk”.

The walk returned to Brettenham via Thorpe Morieux and ended with a drink at The Six Bells pub in Preston St Mary. A gentle autumn day in good company.
